- Is desiDesh safe?
- desiDesh.com maintains a secure database and has strict rules about privacy. Member lists are not disclosed, sold or rented to anyone. E-mail addresses are displayed only to members (and otherwise hidden). Your spousal requirements will be matched with those of thousands of others around the world to present you with the best matches currently available. And we're constantly adding new features to make your visit more enjoyable and successful.
- Why should I use desiDesh?
- DesiDesh.com is an easy to use, safe medium for Indian people to find an appropriate spouse. If your goal is to find a culturally similar spouse, then you've come to the right place. And of course, our profiles are always fresh as inactive profiles are deleted from the system.
- How much does it cost to use desiDesh.com?
- Registering with desiDesh will always be free. We are currently offering a promotion that allows registered users who create a profile to be upgraded to a free, limited time membership. This limited time offer expires March 31, 2005. Membership allows you to view contact information on profiles that is otherwise hidden for non-members.
- Why can't I see the contact information on profile pages?
- Until the end of our current promotional period, March 31, 2005, everyone who registers with and posts a profile on desiDesh.com will automatically receive membership privileges, including access to profile contact information. If you just completed the registration process and posted your profile, your account will usually be upgrade within 5-10 minutes. However due to high traffic, sometimes this process takes longer. If after 24 hours you still cannot see contact information, contact us detailing this problem and we'll happily check the system for you.
- Why do I need a screen name? Why should I use this?
- A screen name allows you to use an identifier without disclosing your name and/or e-mail address. We recommend that you choose a screen name that means something to you without disclosing your personal information or compromising your safety. We consider "greenEyes, Rani, and funny4u" appropriate screen names. Inappropriate screen names would include your address, phone number, and/or name.
- How do I post my profile?
- Posting your profile is easy. First, register with desiDesh.com (if you haven't already). And second, create your profile. It's as simple as that.
- How often can I update my profile?
- You can update your profile as often as you like. Simply log in, go to the My Profile page, and click the Modify Profile button at the bottom.
- If you haven't already, you may want to upload (or update) your photo. Past experience shows that profiles with photos are much more popular than profiles without. If you don't know how to upload a photo or don't have a scanner, send us your photo and desiDesh.com will do the work for you.
- What if I forgot my password?
- Don't worry. It's easy. Simply click here and your password will promptly be e-mailed to you.
- What are desiDesh's recommendations for uploading my photo?
- desiDesh.com recommends that photos be either a full height picture or a close up of your upper torso. Prospective spouses want to see YOU, so we recommend having professional studio pictures taken of you by yourself. Of course, all photos should show your whole face - not side views or profiles. Save your casual, family, and party photos for your photo albums and share them after you are married.
- Why won't my photo upload?
- In order to upload successfully, the file size of your photo must be less than 300K and either a jpeg or gif. If you need help, send us your photo and we'll scan it for you.
- How do I remove my profile?
- We're sorry to see you leave desiDesh.com unless of course you made a successful match. If that's the case, then please send us an e-mail (we love to hear about our success stories).
- To remove your profile, log in to desiDesh.com. Click on My Profile and then the Modify Profile button at the bottom of the page. Change the Profile Status (the first field) to Hidden.
- What if I'm having trouble with another desiDesh user?
- Use the Contact Us form and let us know what the problem is. Our team will review the situation and decide upon an appropriate course of action. At desiDesh, we expect our users to be respectful of others and consequently, we have a low tolerance for disrespect.
- How do I report profile abuse?
- If someone is not respecting the site and the desiDesh mission, contact us immediately. Please detail the situation. We will review and decide upon an appropriate course of action.
